Public Procurement: Global Revolution IV - Conference at the University of Nottingham under the auspices of the EU-funded Asia Link programme on public procurement April 19-20th, 2010
The conference Public Procurement: Global Revolution IV will be held on 19th-20th April 2010 at the Nottingham University Jubilee Campus Conference Centre.
This major international conference will bring together academics and those in practice to discuss key current issues in public procurement regulation and education. The conference will be run under the EU-funded Asia Link project for developing a global academic network in public procurement regulation (see below). The conference will be attended by policy-makers, lawyers and practitioners from around the world, including from the main international organisations involved in procurement regulation, and by the world's leading professors and researchers.
The conference will examine a wide range of topical issues through: • plenary sessions for all delegates; • a series of parallel workshops focusing on specific topics of interest to different delegates; and • poster presentations of current research.
The key conference themes will be:
• Key issues and developments in EU public procurement
• Procurement regulation in the twenty-first century: challenges and issues for practitioners in the developed and developing worlds
• Globalisation and harmonisation in public procurement regulation
• Procurement practice and academia: the role of universities in procurement education and reform

EU Asia Inter-University Network for Teaching and Research in Public Procurement Regulation
This conference is run under the auspices of the EU Asia Inter-University Network for Teaching and Research in Public Procurement Regulation, funded by the EU. The project is led by University of Nottingham (Project leader: Professor Sue Arrowsmith) and the other consortium members are Copenhagen Business School, the Central University of Finance and Economics (Beijing), Xinjiang University, and the University of Malaya. The conference is directed by Professor Sue Arrowsmith and Professor Steen Treumer. Completed outcomes of the Asia Link project that will contribute to teaching of public procurement regulation in higher education will be made available and discussed at the conference. Conferences will also be held in 2010 in Beijing and Kuala Lumpur.
